About Us

Leinster Animal Rescue was set up by animal home rescue centres that needed a voice and a helping hand.

Leinster Animal Rescue is a small group of people devoted to the cause of supporting animals that have been abandoned, mistreated, abused and surrendered to the charity. We believe that all animals have the right to have shelter, food, veterinarian care and the dignity they deserve.

The Leinster Animal Rescue is a registered charity in Ireland (Charity Reg. No: CHY20046)

In recent times, animal home rescues have become full with long term dogs and cats that for one reason or another never got homes. As we found with Killakee home rescue, it became difficult for them to take in more animals hence the charity has now targeted to build its own rescue center. With this we would be in a position to have more animals in our care, volunteers working in the rescue, 24 hour security and the opportunity for the public to come along and meet our animals with a view to finding your forever pet.

We are now four years in service to the animals and a registered charity and we aim to have rescue shelters in several counties throughout Leinster in time.

I think Animal Rescues are a great thing and I support a lot of them
Today I saw a man driving a Leinster Animal Rescue van on Sandyford Road in Dundrum, Dublin 16 around 7:00pm. The person in the vehicle was smoking and then proceeded to throw his cigarette butt out the window which landed on the grass on the side of the road. Not only is this littering, it is also a danger to animals. Many birds and small animals eat these and become sick and some of them die. If you are an animal rescue this is not the best image to project, employees who litter and don’t care about animals or the environment.
I was really disappointed to see this today from an animal rescue

      Hello!

      Thank you for your e-mail.
We will definitely have a chat with our employees about smoking while driving and representing our charity and littering on any time as we understand the consequences towards environment and the animals.

      Kind regards

      Linda
